I’m not going to give away this basic mistake – but let’s say, the sea gives you a major clue…and have  a listen to this 5-minute episode…

Christ almighty, mate!
Get out of the wind and get a proper mic…
Can’t hear a damn thing! :-/
Hi Billy,
Billy, thank you for your comment. Do I take it from your passionate response that you are very passionate about hearing the latest Amazon information from me clearly? I assume so!
First of all, I apologise for the low audio quality on this particular episode.
I don’t normally broadcast in the wind and I do in fact have a lavalier mic (lapel mic). The issue was that I wanted to capture the sound and feel of the sea while I had a moment while away from home in order to give context to what I was saying. If I had gone back to my hotel to get the lav mic, I would have been forced to ignore the moment as I had a meeting after lunch!
Sadly, I didn’t have my lav mic with me to reduce the wind noise, since I was just out for a swim!
However, due to feedback like yours, in future I will simply not bother to make a recording in such a situation. So you’ll not be subjected to this sound quality again, Billy!
Of course, if the (Free) content is important enough to you, I guess you might overlook the odd sound issue. I understand your frustration; equally, I can’t guarantee the current high output of content combined with high quality recording. If you want fewer episodes, with guaranteed better audio quality, let me know and I’ll take your views into account when planning.
The majority of my recordings are in fact now made with an Audio-Technica ATR-2100 microphone and processed for noise reduction and equalization before publishing. When away from home, I will sometimes be forced to improvise. However, I will try to ensure a higher base level of quality in future.
Thank you for your commmitment to listening to the podcast!
